2014-2015 Season
The Bilston Town Challenge Cups, sponsored by Paycare, were created in season 2012/13, to replace the old South Staffs Charity Cups, which had ceased to exist three years previous.
That competition catered for U11s, U12s, U13s and U14s and was the only competition that allowed them to compete against other junior teams from outside of their own domestic league.
So when the previous competitions were disolved it seriously restricted the opportunity for youngsters to test themselves outside of their own league.
Recognising this fact, Bilston Town FC sought and obtained sanction from the Staffordshire FA to create the Bilston Town Junior Challenge Cup - the Junior FA Cup.
Although many young teams are unaware of it's predecessor, the competitions have grown in stature and reputation year on year and now see entries from teams across the whole of the West Midlands.
In 2013/14 our friends at Paycare added further credibility to the events by becoming the main competition sponsor and their pride in supporting the events is reflected in the the clubs pride at being the innovators of these prestigious competitions.
The preliminary rounds of the competitions are drawn at random and played on a 'home' or 'away' basis with the final sfor all four competitions played at Queen Street, the home of Bilston Town and may be first time many of these youngsters have ever played in such stadium surroundings.
The new Bilston Town FC website will contain full details of all Challenge Cups and the Floodlit Cup including club contact information, fixtures, results, draws as they are made and match action images.
