UNDER 12 SUNDAY CUP
The Bilston Town Under 12 Sunday Challenge Cup sponsored by Paycare kicked off last Sunday with four first round ties. There was a very close and exciting contest when Black Country Phoenix from the Stourbridge League entertained FC Newlands Falcons from the Walsall League. A strike from Blake Timmins for the Phoenix was matched by a goal from Declan Riley for the Falcons to take the tie to extra time and Blake Timmins bagged his second of the game to take Black Country Phoenix through to the second round. The Falcons stablemates also went out after they were beaten 4-0 by their visitors and Walsall League colleagues Silverdale Scorpions. It was a much closer affair when FC Premier from the Walsall League travelled to Lichfield League’s Shelfield United and it was the visitors who went home happy after a 3-1 victory which came courtesy of a double blast from George Howell and a single from Samuel Jones. In the final tie between two Walsall League sides visitors Pendeford United went goal crazy beating Bustleholme Bullets 17-0. Pendeford were three goals to the good within ten minutes courtesy of a goal from Daniel Jones and two from Selwyn Osei when they were both left unmarked in the box. Four more from the prolific Selwyn Osei and a splendid headed goal from midfielder Billy Cooper gave Pendeford an 8-0 half time lead. The second half was much the same with too hot to handle Selwyn Osei bagging another three goals to make it nine on the day and give Pendeford an 11-0 lead. As Pendeford were now winning comfortably manger Karl Henry decided to make some changes to help the players adapt to different roles when needed moving keeper Remay Porter to centre back and replacing him with Selwyn Osei. Centre back Kori Henry moved to centre forward and left back Eric Edusei switched places with left winger Daniel Jones. This gave them another dimension and led to another six goals with a hat trick from Eric Edusei, a second from Daniel Jones and strikes from Sameer Mohammed and Tayo Porter completing the rout.

UNDER 12 SUNDAY CUP
Last Sunday the Bilston Town Under 12 Sunday Challenge Cup sponsored by Paycare reached the quarter final stage. There was a very close and exciting contest when FC Premier entertained Walsall League colleagues Stonnall Juniors. Following a very even first half where FC Premier were awarded a penalty only to be denied by an excellent save from the Stonnall keeper Jude Turner it was the visitors who took the lead on 34 minutes when Ben Carruthers found the net following an assist from Bryn Woodcock. With just 7 minutes remaining FC Premier were back on level terms with a strike from Benjamin Corbett taking the tie into extra time. Despite chances at both ends with just minutes to go the tie looked destined to be settled by the dreaded penalty shoot-out when FC Premier second penalty and this time it was converted by Harrison Clarke to ensure that FC Premier will be in the draw for the semi-finals. There was another very close contest when Black Country Phoenix from the Stourbridge League travelled to Walsall League outfit Tipton Youth but they went home disappointed despite an excellent display after goals from Jackson Gardner, Harrison Dawes and Charles Whitehouse helped Tipton book their place in the semis with a 3-1 victory. Josh Stevens was on target for the visitors. There was a more comfortable victory for Midland Junior Prem outfit FC Newlands when they entertained Silverdale Scorpions from the Walsall league. Double strikes from Samuel Van Hagen and Tyler Dannan and singles from Brandon Lewis, Charlie Purcell and Dylan Hawkins saw them cruise through to the semi-finals with a 7-0 victory. Having demolished Walsall league colleagues Bustleholme 17-0 in the previous round Pendeford United were looking forward to entertaining Coven United from the Bilston League. Having scored 9 goals in the previous round Pendeford centre forward Selwyn Osei could only manage 8 this time. It all started as early as the 5th min when Selwyn bagged his first to put Pendeford United 1-0 up, but Coven weren't going to roll over that easily and just 5 minutes later Natius-Mapiye-Howl took advantage of a back bad pass by the Pendeford defender to level the score but Selwyn Osei was on another roll as he scored his 2nd within 2 minutes of Coven scoring to restore Pendeford’s advantage. The hosts then extended their lead through winger Sameer Mohammed before Coven reduced the deficit when Natius-Mapiye-Howl bagged his second of the game to make it 3-2. This spurred Pendeford into action and they moved into top gear with a run of goals from Selwyn Osei, scoring 6 more, another one from Sameer Mohammed making his total to 2 on the day, one from Eric Edusei, two from Daniel Jones, and one from substitute Ahmed Abdulkhaleq to give Pendeford 14-2 victory and a place in the semi-finals.
