LICHFIELD CITY 4 BILSTON TOWN 1
Staffordshire FA Vase Quarter Final Saturday 10th January 2015 Kick-Off 3.00pm |
ROSE PROVES A THORN IN BILSTON'S SIDEA brace from Lichfield's top goalscorer Mark Rose saw the Steelmen crash out of the Staffordshire FA Vase at the Quarter Final stage.
A thoroughly disappointing afternoon for the 'Orange Army' as the chance of a prestigious County cup final appearance slipped away. In the other quarter finals, holders Wolstanton United crashed out on penalties after being held to a 1-1 draw by Abbey Hulton United and the runners-up 12 months ago were also knocked out as Stone Old Alleynians beat Hanley Town 2-0. Our division rivals, Sporting Khalsa, saw their 2nd cup tie in 3 days go to extra-time but despite being down to 10 men they won 1-0 away at Eccleshall and now face a trip to Stone in the semi finals.
